Salma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, an LLB Honours degree from the University of Leeds, and a Global Professional Master of Laws from the University of Toronto.
During law school, she volunteered as a citizens advocate with the Advonet Group, where she supported individuals with disabilities in understanding their rights and accessing legal services. She also volunteered with the Welfare Appeals and Tribunal Clinic, where she assisted vulnerable clients with their benefit disputes.
Salma’s work experience has been focused on criminal defence, including summer student positions within the field. She believes a strong defence protects rights at every stage and treats every client with dignity. She approaches her work with diligence, empathy, and an understanding of the real impact the justice system can have on individuals.
